Dark Prospect settled too far back off a moderate tempo at Belmont Park last weekend

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 15 September

Punting Form's exclusive neural prices rate Dark Prospect as the favourite for the Val & Rob Diamond Anniversary Handicap over 1,600 metres at Belmont Park on Saturday so Neville Parnham's galloper represents a value bet with TABtouch.

Dark Prospect will be backing up seven days after he settled too far back in a 72+ handicap in which the leader, Red Paddy, went to the 600 metres pole 1.4 lengths slower than the class benchmark. Dark Prospect was five lengths off the speed with 600m remaining and, while the early backmarker registered the fastest late sectionals, he ran out of ground to overtake Battle Torque, Astronomite and Juicing Carrots. Dark Prospect drops in grade on Saturday and he is well worth another chance third up under Steven Parnham.
