Reykjavik (light blue and white checkers) was third in this season's TABtouch-Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 21 July

Punting Form has identified enigmatic Lindsey Smith-trained gelding Reykjavik as the galloper to beat in the big field assembled for the Furphy Handicap over 1,200 metres on Saturday, the penultimate race on the Belmont Park card.

Reykjavik's two-year Punting Form personal best, admittedly over 1,400m, is more than two lengths superior to those of his Furphy Handicap rivals and he ran good numbers last time out when winning over 1,300m on a soft Belmont Park track, which is what he is likely to encounter for his sixth run this preparation. Reykjavik is coming off a minor setback - hence the 24 days between races - but he drops three kilograms in weight from his last-start success under Jordan Turner and he may have turned the corner since having his blinkers binned.

Perth Racing is committed to providing punters with the best possible free data to enable them to bet with confidence on the club's races with TABtouch, the brand that funds the industry. That is why Perth Racing is partnering with Punting Form, which clocks and rates almost every performance on Australian tracks.
