Soundcheck (blue, brown and yellow colours) was third in the 2017 Supremacy Stakes

Punting Form race reports: Wednesday 18 July

Soundcheck has been a bit disappointing for a galloper which placed at Listed level as a juvenile but, according to Punting Form, he is the most likely winner of the Peacock Bros Handicap over 1,300 metres at Belmont Park on Wednesday.

One of two Trevor Andrews-trained acceptors for the Peacock Bros Handicap, Soundcheck's two-year Punting Form personal best is at least four lengths faster than any of his Wednesday opponents and, after being blocked for a run behind Oregon Bronze first up, he settled too far back in a slowly run affair five weeks ago and had no chance of running down most of the gallopers which entered the straight ahead of him. Soundcheck will start the Peacock Bros Handicap from the inside gate and maps to get the run of the race under Joseph Azzopardi.
