Reykjavik (blue and white checkers) finished second to Retosona at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 23 December

Punting Form race reports: Wednesday 2 May

Reykjavik, which trialled close up behind top-class 2017 Ascot 1,000 Guineas winner Awaken, is worthy of TABtouch fixed odds favouritism for Wednesday's Sterling Handicap at Ascot Racecourse, according to Punting Form's analysis.

Set to race in blinkers for the first time on his 14th appearance, Reykjavik's two-year Punting Form personal best is nearly five lengths superior to his nearest Sterling Handicap rival. Formerly trained by Paula Wagg, Reykjavik placed both times he ran for Lindsey Smith in December, including finishing third in the Lee-Steere Classic at Listed level. And Reykjavik's Sterling Handicap impost will be 58 kilograms because in-form apprentice jockey Tayla Stone takes off two kilos.
