Under The Radar: Ascot - Wednesday 22 November

Expected weather: Sunny and 29 degrees

Rail position: 15m

Race 7: 4.25pm – TABtouch - Regional Championship: The Road To Ascot (1100m) - Bet with TABtouch

6 CATAPLEXIC (TABtouch opening price: $11)

Largely ‘UTR’ because her two runs back from a spell have been at Geraldton.

Two starts back she went back to last from a wide gate before taking the short way home and running La Mouline to 1.5L.

Last start she sat midfield and rattled down the outside to score.

She steps up in grade here, but - despite being a 6yo - has only had the 12 starts and is improving. She also ran placed in this grade last prep at Belmont.

Half-sister Love Always ran a blinder in the Champion Fillies and she can run well here.

REPLAY - CATAPLEXIC (1st) - 26 October 2017 - Race 9 - 1100m - Geraldton

Race 8: 5.00pm – Glenroy Chaff Handicap (1200m) - Bet with TABtouch

2 DISTANT TRILOGY (TABtouch opening price: $2.45)

Beat Finance on debut with that horse having placed in Metro 62 grade since.

Should have then made it two in a row, but jumped a shadow at the furlong and almost lost the rider.

Jumps from barrier three and the claim gives weight relief. Young John looks on another level, but the rest are beatable.

Would have to improve, but can third-up.

REPLAY - DISTANT TRILOGY - (5th) - 7 November 2017 - Race 6 - 1108m - Bunbury

Race 9: 5.40pm – Perth Racing Club Membership Handicap (1,500m) - Bet with TABtouch

4 JUST LIKE THAT (TABtouch opening price: $4.20)

Broke through for maiden win last start, but it was the way she did that impressed. She sat three wide from about the 800m and still never looked vulnerable in the straight.

That was over 1400m and the 1500m certainly looks no issue here. Is drawn wide though so will need some luck.

The Nicconi’s have been going well of late (State Solicitor, Caipirinha) and she can continue the good run of her sire in the last event here.
