It’s that time of year again, and the good times are set to return to Ascot with an exciting Carnival of events kicking off on Crown Perth Opening Day on October 21.
The track looks great and is in form for an excellent series of racing. According to Perth Racing’s Managing Director Professor John Yovich, Perth Racing is turning it up a notch for the 2017 Carnival season and it’s not only the horses that will enjoy a green thriving Ascot this weekend.
“After a very successful carnival with more than 100,000 visitors last year, we asked patrons what they really enjoyed about the Carnival at Ascot. Apart from exciting racing, it was all about the entertainment, pop up bars and stunning grounds and atmosphere at the track at this time of year. This year we have created more new exciting venues, such as the Mumm Champagne Garden, The Pavilion Bar - a new premium destination for guests right near the track and a relaxed, shaded picnic area with gourmet food and beverage hampers available to order,” Mr Yovich said.
“We’ve furthered expanded the range of options for our patrons – to suit every style and budget – and as a result we expect a buzzing atmosphere this weekend” he said.
Perth Racing Ambassador Brittany Taylor said she was super excited to launch into the 2017 season of spring racing.
“Spring in Perth is synonymous with Racing at Ascot and I can’t wait to get outside and enjoy all the hospitality and entertainment action on course,” Ms Taylor said.
“I’m thrilled to be a judge for the MYER Fashions on The Field. Last year featured some of the best outfits I’ve ever seen, so I can’t wait to see if racegoers can top that this year, ‘she said.
The winner of the prestigious competition will walk away with a prize pool worth over $10,000, including a trip for two to Melbourne’s iconic Flemington Racecourse to represent WA in the National MYER Fashions on the Field.
