Expected Weather: Partly Cloudy and 22 degrees.
Expected Track Rating: Soft 5.
Rail position: Out 6m.
Race 1: 12.47pm - Crown Perth Opening Day at Ascot - 21 Oct Plate (1000m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 FINGERMARK finished in behind Wakan Tanka in recent trials, the most recent being a four-length sixth of seven.
2 PLATOON is another of the Parnham runners, clocked almost an identical time as Wakan Tanka for the 850m, but looked very green, and jumps from second from the outside.
3 SNEAKY DEVIL ran within a length-and-a-half of Platoon in only 850m trial on September 18.
4 WAKAN TANKA trialled like a horse that’s been doing it for years. Bounced in front, coasted to the turn and then lengthened beautifully. The inside draw will assist.
5 AMAZED was just off Platoon in both trials. She draws well in three and shapes as going forward with the stablemate Wakan Tanka.
6 ARGYLE MISS debuts after two 400m trials – one on good, one on soft – in which she finished within a length of the winner in both.
7 ENERGY PAK just the sole 400m trial when five-and-a-half lengths off winner.
8 HEAVENLY DUST has run in behind Argyle Miss in two 400m trials this month, one on soft 5, one on good 4.
9 KISS THE BREEZE has only had the one x 400m trial, but in comparison to my other selections, ran atleast .6 of a second quicker than what they had in the past.
10 SURE CONVICTION finished two-and-a-quarter lengths off Argyle Miss over 400m on September 26

Race 2: 1.27pm - TABtouch Maiden - (1200m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 SOVEREIGN TRADE was trapped wide and pushed forward last start. Felt the pinch late but was admirable in fourth. Fourth-up here and drawn well in four.
2 NO MEANT FEAT bit of blind faith here. Has been off the track for a long time, but showed some toe in a couple of maiden runs 18 months ago. No public trials of late, but barrier one helps.
3 MYBAK first-up here. Finished three-and-a-quarter lengths off Fork Handles in 950m Lark Hill trial on 11th of September.
4 DYNAMITE JACK trapped wide from outside alley and fought home evenly when fifth to Denim Pack last start. Drawn the carpark again here.
5 OAKHURST POWER enjoyed a rails run last start on debut, but was only adequate in the run to the post, behind Scuffy. Drawn gate 2 here.
6 LUC’S STAR first-up here off the back of two trials, the most recent a close-up second to Viammo over the Belmont 1000m, on September 18.
7 MAJORA’S MASK finished just behind Luc’s Star in aforementioned trial.
8 VITAL SILVER debuts. No public trials coming in, but looked to have nice ability in two trials back in January. Jarrad Noske rides and is drawn well in three.
9 BURNING MAGIC again found one better last Saturday. Can’t knock the run, and expect he’ll go close here again, barrier 12 is just a worry.
10 VITAL TOUCH first-up was absolutely beauty. Was off the track the whole way with no cover, at times four and five deep, and just keep finding to finishing fourth. Get the luck from barrier eight and we’re a big show here.
11 BELLFLOWER beat Vital Touch home into third but benefitted from a much easier trip. Fitness is on this galloper’s side here being fourth-up.
12 ANOTHER STORY forced to work from a wide alley and only nabbed late when resuming over the 1100m at Northam. Barrier 14 a concern, but William Pike jumps on here for the first time. With luck, is right in this.
13 FAIRTORE almost ten lengths off No Ordinary Girl last start. Would be a fair turnaround.
14 PRINCESS ZELDA finished fourth in a messy maiden last start at Northam. Fourth-up now and drawn well in five. One to consider.
15 FEFE LA BEK just the one relatively recent trial and that came in June. Finished six lengths off Gunnago and looks tested here.
16 PATIENCE PHILLIPS debuts off just the one trial when a length off Vision Up at Belmont on September 18.
Selections: 10-11-9-2
Race 3: 2.07pm - Perth Racing Club Membership Plate (1000m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 LUCY MAE took a run to get going as a 2yo and expect the fitness edge a couple of her rivals have, might just have her covered. She’s a quality animal nonetheless and the inside gate helps.
2 KISS BANG LOVE the Gimcrack winner in the autumn, but failed to go on with it in the Karrakatta and the Sires. Resumes off no trial so suspect will find a couple here too sharp.
3 MY DEMI pulled in the run and then couldn’t sprint with the winner when a length off Dynamite Dream last start. Wide gate a factor that day and looms as one here again, as jumps from seven.
4 SATURIA stuck on well despite pressure from the outside, from Dynamite Dream, coming early in the straight. They’re drawn next to one another here and expect there won’t be much between them again.
5 DYNAMITE DREAM stalked Saturia before showing a superior turn of foot to get home last start. Feel third-up here, he might have improved more than his rival, who is fourth-up.
6 THE NICCONIAN resumes off an eight length trial win at Belmont on September 18. Gate eight hurts, but no denying talent. Market watch.
7 VELAGO debuts off one trial in which finished two lengths off Moschard. Likely to find this too difficult.
8 OCEAN JEWEL resumes. Pushed along in only trial following two solid performances in the winter. Expect will go back and run on well from barrier nine, but might need the run.
9 GET THE VIBE finally draws an inside gate in three, after drawing wide in two previous runs. Change of alley will hopefully see an on speed run, and can surprise rivals here third-up.
Selections: 5-9-4-1
Race 4: 2.52pm - Geoff O’Neill 100th Birthday Handicap (1400m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 SOCIALLY UNIQUE scratched.
2 PINZU absolutely jumped out of the ground last start, when launching from the back to win this track/distance and grade. Not worried by this fella conceding an extra 2kg to main rival here, with a small field, will be within range when cornering and still prove too good.
3 SETTLER’S CREEK didn’t go around a horse when two lengths sixth to Final Salute. Expect that’ll change here, having drawn eight of nine.
4 WAR GOD had absolutely nowhere to go in the run home last start in the Kambalda Cup. Gate two should rule out any misfortunes here and has been thereabouts in recent runs.
5 FLYING ROAR the scratching of So Who’s Harry could make all the difference here. Suffered from a brutal speed set by that runner and Baraki Beats last start and still finished off strongly. Gets the chance to dictate up front here, and if can pinch some cheap sectionals, can upset the fancies.
6 SO WHO’S HARRY scratched.
7 POINT produced an even run when fifth behind the classy Final Salute. Second-up here and still looking for further ground, but does drop 4.5kg and jumps from barrier three.
8 STABLE SECRET backs up after what was an encouraging third, seven days ago. Steps up to a distance that has struggled with in the past, but is well drawn in four and is rock hard fit.
9 BONNY BE GOOD like Pinzu, will be hitting peak fitness fourth-up. Sat ahead of that runner and was probably disadvantaged by the hot speed last start, but finding it hard to see her turn the tables here.
Selections: 2-9-7-8
Race 5: 3.28pm - The TABtouch Masters 25th Nov - 2 Dec - 9 Dec Handicap (2100m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 KIROV BOY struggled when seven lengths off Danehill’s Daughter last start. Looks tested again here.
2 SPECIAL DELIVERY just the two runs beyond the mile and both came as a three-year-old. That said, looked keen for more ground when third behind Our Finest Moment last start. Ridden quietly from gate two can see him threaten.
3 WITNESS IN COURT went back to the rear over the 2000m when five lengths 11th behind Jetoomy, and looked to have been found out by the hot tempo in the run to the line. Needs to lift on that effort to figure here.
4 CARALABEK lost his way at times but was still good enough to score, albeit narrowly, last time round at Northam. Trip no issue, gate six no issue and W.Pike certainly no issue. Will have his admirers for sure.
5 VERDELLO BLUE was as brave as ever behind Jetoomy. Sat two pairs back off that genuine tempo and only finished half-a-length off War Ksar on the line. Gate 10 here stings though.
6 WAR KSAR was the eye-catching run behind Jetoomy last start. That said sat back and was favoured by a hectic speed set by Reef Keeper. Finally draws a nice alley (4), after jumping from double digit barriers at his last four runs.
7 THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN ran side-by-side with Verdello Blue for much of their last outing, but finished a length of the grey in the finish, and two-and-a-half off winner Jetoomy. Barrier three helps but perhaps place chance best.
8 SONNEN three runs over the mile have this fella primed for the extra trip now. Was drawn wide and sat three deep, no cover, but still gave plenty in the run home last start. Up against some race hardened stayers here but draws the inside alley.
9 BUSTER’S SHADOW lay-in for a number of strides but still proved too good at Northam. Much tougher test this, but if can put it all together, can make it back-to-back wins.
10 LET’S TWIST put a line through last start. Sat third, dragged the field up to Reef Keeper and was a spent force in the straight. Start prior was promising – 5th over the 2000m in harder grade at Belmont.
Selections: 8-6-5-10
Race 6: 4.10pm - Vale Geoff Byers Handicap (1600m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 FIRST AFFAIR settled back and was ridden for luck last start, which he got little of in the home straight. Fred Kersley’s 3kg claim assists again here as does barrier two.
2 BARZINHO was run off his feet early over the 1300m first-up, but stuck on well late and will be better for the run. Up to the preferred mile now should see an improved performance.
3 JESTER ROCK needed the first-up run when four-and-a-half lengths behind Young Gina. 1200m up to 1600m here, suspect will need this as well.
4 TAKE IT LIKE A MAN was up in grade last start and looked the winner 50m out but nailed late. Barrier eight makes things tricky, but is fit and inform. Note the riding change – William Pike jumps aboard for Daniel Staeck.
5 DUSHA ZACHISTSKI steps up to the 1600m after three runs at 1400m. Three previous runs at the mile have been poor. Will need to find his best here.
6 FREEDOM BY CHOICE resumes after two trials, the most recent a half-a-length second to The Forgotten One over 1450m. Nought from two first-up.
7 ATHLETE let down like something special in just start number four a fortnight ago. Certain to improve up to the mile here, and third-up. Could be a gun in the making.
8 DAISY EXPRESS had no impact when 12 of 12 over the mile behind Battle Torque. Will find this tough going.
9 SIRIUS PROSPECT hasn’t placed in three runs this campaign and looks to have work cut out from barrier nine.
10 THE KARNUP KID resumes. Expect will find many of these too good.
Selections: 7-4-1-2
Race 7: 4.50pm - Penfolds Handicap (1200m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 CHINETTI sat on a solid speed and kicked upon cornering but was picked up at the furlong when three lengths off I Am Incredible. Fitter now third-up but place chance is best.
2 JUICING CARROTS resumed disappointingly when 11 lengths off Pinzu. Hard to see him challenging here, off that run.
3 CONSEATED resumes following an easy 1000m trial at Belmont on September 18. Hasn’t missed a place in four previous first-up runs, will enjoy the claim, and barrier two.
4 KAAPANDER draws the outside gate which makes things tough. Place claims.
5 WAR JEUNE resumes after a 1000m trial at Belmont on September 18. Numbers read two wins from three first-up runs, and produced a number of solid performances in the autumn, so running a place here is far from impossible.
6 FLOYD stamped himself as a future top-liner when donkey licked rivals last start. Expect he’ll have picked up another length or two, third-up now as well. Isn’t the best out of the gates, and jumps from nine here, after drawing 2 and 3 in his last two starts. But on previous performance, surely just wins again.
7 DUTCH SPY was in a different postcode to Floyd last time around, but last 200m was certainly admirable. Won’t turn the tables, but does get a 2.5kg swing and draws a better gate in five.
8 RHI’S ROCKET scratched.
9 TRAVELLIN’ another resuming. Numbers suggest gets going second-up and beyond.
10 YEAH DARDY experiences a decent jump in grade here, but can’t ignore the ease in which she won over the 1200m first-up. Draws poorly again in 10 but can go forward and show plenty of cheek.
11 FORSEEN resuming. Look for later in the campaign.
12 ROTANA BEACH drew wide, sat wide, pushed forward and faded in easier company last time. Drawn better here in four, but will need to find best to finish in the money.
Selections: 6-7-10-1
Race 8 : 5.30pm - Ian Goldsmith 65th Birthday Handicap (1300m) – Bet with TABtouch
1 DANEFIN two-and-a-half months in between runs for this fella. Contested harder races than this, but prefer others.
2 TOPPA DAWOZZA first-up off the back of one 1200m trial. Will need further.
3 ON TREND wide gate, missed kick, settled at the back and was never a factor last start. Draws horribly again here in 11 but is due for luck, and surely will improve third-up.
4 LORENTINIO been very brave this whole campaign and was rewarded with a win last time around. Jumps up in grade here but looks capable of matching these. Another 3kg claim, and a handy enough gate (5), give him every chance if he’s good enough.
5 REVEILLE reeled off some sharp late splits in a number of races last campaign. 1300m is short of her best and she’s drawn ten, but has shown she can sit back and swoop late, or settle close to the speed and split the gaps. Just the one trial coming into this.
6 CASH ON CALL willing to forget last start when over-raced throughout and then copped a solid bump in the straight. Start prior produced a game second this track/distance and grade. Draws the paint and Pike – who didn’t ride last start – jumps back aboard.
7 MRS BROWN’S BOY is back to the 1200m from the 1400m where he was nabbed by Tycoon Target on the post. Three 1200m runs prior to that were all super competitive. In fact, hasn’t missed a place in last seven starts. Gate three a bonus.
8 JUST ELATED first run for two months. Five lengths fifth to By Decree last start but did work home nicely off a moderate tempo. Likely to go back again from barrier eight here, which means will need speed on. But for a lightly raced 7yo, looks to have plenty of heart.
9 WATIJADOO hasn’t given a whimper in three runs this time in, finishing last, second last, and last. Would suggest he’ll battle here.
10 DENIM PACK the real interesting runner here. At start number four off a maiden win last start, but time was quite slick (33.94 last 600m). Only carries 52.5kg thanks to a claim and jumps from gate two. Giving away experience, but has plenty in his favour.
11 KLEVA KEZZA pulled out of Wednesday to run here. Second-up 1300m here after running 1650m first-up. Place chance best.
Selections: 6-5-7-3
