Race 1 1:23 TABtouch Maiden (1,400 metres) – Bet with TABtouch

9 NO ORDINARY GIRL (TABtouch opening price: 7.00)

No Ordinary Girl was caught wide without cover from barrier 11 when fifth behind Kia Ora Star over 1200m last start. Despite covering extra ground, and exerting more energy, she still found again in the home straight, to run within 2.5 lengths of the winner.

She looked like a horse wanting more ground that day and gets it here. She draws the inside alley with William Pike aboard, and fitness wise she should be peaking fourth-up this campaign. Breaking her maiden looks well within reach.

REPLAY - NO ORDINARY GIRL (5th) - 2 September 2017 - Race 1 - 1,200m - Belmont Park

Race 4 3:20 Crown Towers Handicap (1,400 metres) – Bet with TABtouch

9 VEGA DIOR (TABtouch opening price: 6.50)

Vega Dior broke through for her first career win, at just her second start last time around at Pinjarra over 1200m. What was most impressive was the way she was challenged over the concluding stages, but dug deep to score.

That was a maiden and this a Benchmark 62 but a smallish field here plays into her hands. She is second-up but did have three trial runs prior to her first-up run. In fact her three trials were all wins on soft ground, so will have no problems should the rain come on Saturday. With untapped potential, from barrier 5, the $6.50 looks appealing.

REPLAY – VEGA DIOR (1st) - 24 August 2017 – Race 5 – 1,200m – Pinjarra

Race 6 4:30 Penfolds Handicap (1,600 metres) – Bet with TABtouch

3 OUTLAW PETE (TABtouch opening price: 8.00)

Outlaw Pete was the victim of a slow tempo last start when the leaders finished one/two. Was back on the rail last start and still managed to make some ground in the straight, despite the field crawling through the middle stages.

The winner of that race – Chasing Chaos – also runs here, so tempo will be the key again, but if there is a stronger speed, Outlaw Pete can strike fourth-up here.

Drawn well enough in five, and is assisted by a 1.5kg claim again.

REPLAY – OUTLAW PETE (5th) - 9 September 2017 – Race 7 – 1,200m – Belmont Park
