Scuffy probably deserves clear favouritism for the James Boag’s Premium Maiden over 1,200m based on her performance in beating all bar Kia Ora Star two weeks ago and the consensus speed map for her latest assignment over six furlongs.
Craig Staples, who probably had the choice of at least three rides, should be able to find the front and the inside rail aboard Scuffy, which was upwards of two lengths too good for every runner except Kia Ora Koutou’s brother a fortnight back.

There was quite a lot to like about My Demi’s breakthrough victory under William Pike in which he made light of jumping from the outside gate of 10 to run down Dynamite Dream and others over 1,000m at Belmont Park 10 days ago.
Pike sticks with My Demi and, from a middle gate, the champion jockey should be able to position the three-year-old gelding near the fence with Saturia and Dynamite Dream setting the pace at above-benchmark tempo for the trip.

2. WITNESS IN COURT (TABtouch opening price: 8.50)
If Saturia is a favourite worth risking in the Devil’s Lair Plate over 1,000m, Jetoomy is a market leader worth opposing in the Get The TABtouch Handicap over double the distance and Witness In Court is the most attractively priced competitor.
Witness In Court made it three wins from his last five starts when he flew home to defeat, among others, Reef Keeper and Slick Talker, over 1,600m at Belmont Park two weeks ago and it is hard not to like his closing sectional times.
