WA Government joins Perth Racing’s stable of TABtouch Masters backers

The Government of Western Australia – through Tourism WA – today became the latest major organisation to back the proven winner that is The TABtouch Masters, joining naming rights sponsor TABtouch and race day sponsors James Boag’s Premium, Crown Perth and Magic Millions in betting on the second edition of Perth Racing’s ground-breaking event.

Launched last year, The TABtouch Masters is the world’s only single-track thoroughbred racing festival featuring a Group One race worth at least $1,000,000 on three consecutive Saturdays. Tourism WA’s funding will go towards attracting equine all stars from Australia and overseas to raise the sophomore event’s profile intrastate, interstate and internationally to even greater heights than those that it scaled in 2016, as well as increasing visitations to Perth Racing’s Ascot Racecourse and other local attractions through travel packages.

“The inaugural TABtouch Masters was the breakout hit of Australian thoroughbred racing last year and, with the support of the state government through Tourism WA, it’s odds on to be an even bigger winner for Perth and Western Australia second up this year,” said Professor John Yovich, Managing Director of Perth Racing.

“More than 26,000 people enjoyed seriously good times at The TABtouch Masters last year. This year’s new travel and hospitality packages, developed in partnership with Tourism WA, offer extraordinary experiences not only at Perth Racing’s Ascot Racecourse but also elsewhere throughout Perth and greater Western Australia.”

The $1,000,000 James Boag’s Premium-Railway Stakes, Perth’s oldest Group One race, will get The TABtouch Masters under starter’s orders on Saturday 25 November. The $1,000,000 Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes, Australia’s last Group One sprint of the year, will be the second-up feature of The TABtouch Masters on Saturday 2 December. And the $1,000,000 Magic Millions-Kingston Town Classic, the southern hemisphere’s richest Group One race over 1,800 metres, will wrap up The TABtouch Masters on Saturday 9 December.
