Under the Radar: Amelia Park Karrakatta Plate Day at Ascot - Saturday 1 April

After finding Something Big at juicy each-way odds on Wednesday, we will try again for a bit of value on Amelia Park Karrakatta Plate Day!

Race 1 - 12:14PM JAMES BOAG'S PREMIUM MAIDEN (1200 METRES) – FULL FIELD

12. SHE BANGS THE DRUM

TABtouch opening price: $9

Pluck was a very fast horse in North America and has made his presence felt in Australia as a stallion.

He sires speedy filly She Bangs The Drum which was impressive when second on debut behind Keeper’s Tale on Wednesday 18 January.

She sat outside of the leader on that occasion and was game to the line at $8.

The run after that was fair but was against tougher opposition.

From barrier two, she can jump and lead all of the way.

Watch her runner-up effort on debut (green and white silks with an orange cap):

Race 2 - 12:54PM AMELIA PARK LAMB HANDICAP (1000 METRES) – FULL FIELD

5. GLIMMER GIRL

TABtouch opening price: $17

Glimmer Girl is the outsider of the field but has claims in a 1000m dash such as this.

She raced fiercely over 1500m and 1800m at her two most recent starts so it seems as though Grant and Alana Williams have decided to work with her by putting the blinkers on and bringing her back to 1000m.

She will jump, run and give the rest something to catch on a day which looks to favour those on-speed.

Watch her winning Wednesday 1 February at Ascot (cerise and white silks):

Race 8 - 4:45PM AMELIA PARK-KARRAKATTA PLATE (1200 METRES) – FULL FIELD

4. WACKED OUT

TABtouch opening price: $13

One of the best each-way plays on the card is Wacked Out.

The son of So Secret recorded the fastest time over 1100m for two-year-olds this season when winning the Listed Perth Stakes.

The Karrakatta Plate will only be his third race start so there should be improvement in him to win again and stretch out to 1200m.

Also a positive to note is that after the Perth Stakes, he was doing his best work past the post, suggesting that he will run 1200m comfortably.

Drawn in barrier nine with the other speed runners Al Di La, Achernar Star and Lucy Mae all drawn outside of him, he should cross over to the fence quite comfortably and be the one to catch out in front.

Watch his devastating win in the Perth Stakes (yellow silks and maroon cap):
