Under the Radar: Ascot - Wednesday 29 March

Race 3 - 2:35PM GET THE TABTOUCH MAIDEN (1400 METRES) – FULL FIELD

3. SOMETHING BIG

TABtouch opening price: $14

As the name suggests, Something Big is a very large three-year-old.

The son of Casino Prince has always promised good ability but trainer Neville Parker has had to show patience with the large gelding as he has a mind of his own.

Now first up and with blinkers on for the first time in race conditions, the Capel-trained galloper should roll forward from barrier six and be the one to catch.

Watch the recent trial where he wanted to over-race but finished strongly for a nice third under Joseph Azzopardi (sky blue and maroon silks with black cap):

Race 5 - 3:45PM AMELIA PARK LAMB HANDICAP (1000 METRES) – FULL FIELD

8. SEATTLE STRYKER

TABtouch opening price: $12

A Simon Miller formula for success: blinkers off for trial followed by blinkers on for raceday.

Miller has had great success with this tactic in the past.

It may look like the mare trialled poorly in a recent heat up the 1000m straight at Pinjarra but she did not have blinkers on, a crucial piece of gear which could see her improve by several lengths.

Watch the trial here (she jumps from the inside barrier which is marked six):
