One of many Simon Miller-trained boom two-year-olds, Achernar Star stepped out in a trial at Belmont for the first time since his tenacious runner-up effort in the Restricted Listed Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic.
Since being defeated for the first time in his career at Pinjarra, the gelding by Gingerbread Man looks to have taken no ill-effect from the tough run after clocking a sharp 59.37 over 1000m on Monday 20 March.
The $500,000 Group Two Amelia Park-Karrakatta Plate is still well within reach.
