Key Runners: Ascot - Saturday 25 February

Expected weather: Sunny 39°C

Expected track rating: GOOD4

Rail position: 9m

Race 1 - 12:16PM SELANGOR TURF CLUB TROPHY (2200 METRES) – FULL FIELD

6. LET'S TWIST was soundly held last start in Wednesday grade but showed good fight and determination with 59kg on her back. Up in grade with the weight drop should suit.

7. TOMMI TOOCAN found the line well last start behind At The Ready, albeit in a class three. In-form apprentice Kate Witten takes the ride and the gelding will only carry 51kg.

4. ELEVEN SECONDS probably needed the run last start over 2200m. He should be fitter for that and if he can reproduce the same performance which saw him win two starts ago, he will be very hard to beat. Tactics will be tricky for rider Brad Parnham with speed also expected from I Done It and Kronfeld.

8. TOPPA DAWOZZA doesn’t win out of turn but rarely runs a bad race. From the good draw, he will be another solid place contender.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 6-7-4-8

SUGGESTED BET: 5. Let’s Twist - WIN

Race 2 - 12:58PM PENANG TURF CLUB TROPHY (1100 METRES) – FULL FIELD

3. GOLDEN TRIGGER is still a maiden which is very hard to believe. He needed the run first up this preparation but he should be fit enough to just win this. The good draw, once again, helps.

1. DRIFTWOOD GIRL won back on Saturday 21 January and beat Lucy Mae. That filly has since come out and franked the form by winning the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic. The wide draw is of some concern but the form has to be respected.

7. FIRE ANT got under the guard of punters last start when the filly by Scandal Keeper won on debut at the healthy odds of $21. She has drawn well and should be able to finish off strongly again.

10. EXPRESSELLA will be having her first race start after trialling very impressively under William Pike. The blinkers are on and Jarrad Noske rides for raceday. Has to be considered here.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 3-1-7-10

SUGGESTED BET: 3. Golden Trigger – WIN

Race 3 - 1:38PM YELLOWGLEN HANDICAP (1100 METRES) – FULL FIELD

6. UNIVERSAL MOON ran well at her previous two starts behind Seeker. That form was franked again with Seeker coming out and winning again. Hopefully Patrick Carbery can dig her out from barrier eight and that the mare settles in the first half of the field. A great each-way chance.

10. DIAMOND PRINCESS takes on the older mares but Simon Foster has this filly coming along nicely. The run was good in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy and back to 1100m will suit the speedy daughter of Oratorio.

4. LE PATRON is a very good mare which we are yet to see the best of. She ran well last start in the Pearl Classic at Pinjarra and this is a much easier task. Has to be respected.

8. CALAMARI SAFARI is a rough each-way chance with inferior Geraldton form lines but the blinkers go on for the first time and she relishes running over the 1100m.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 6-10-4-8

SUGGESTED BET: 6. Universal Moon – EACH WAY

Race 4 - 2:18PM SINGAPORE TURF CLUB TROPHY (1100 METRES) – FULL FIELD

3. PATRIMONIO wasn’t beaten far last start in equal grade. Carbery should get a sit in the running line and be able to challenge in the straight. The son of Heritage looks to have taken the next step this preparation.

4. STAR GLITTER was scratched from Wednesday for this tougher assignment which suggests that Neville Parnham is more than happy with the horse's progress. He should get every possible chance from barrier five.

5. JUENDIS may have gotten a bit lost up the Pinjarra straight last start but it was still pretty handy effort considering he missed the start by a length. From barrier nine, expect senior jockey Jason Brown to go back and allow the son of Demerit to finish off strongly.

6. MR AFRICAN is a massive animal and only has to carry 53.5kg. If Tayla Stone allows the big striding galloper to roll along, he could be hard to catch.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 3-4-5-6

SUGGESTED BET: 3. Patrimonio – EACH WAY & 6. Mr African – EACH WAY

Race 5 - 2:58PM LEX PIPER STAKES (1600 METRES) – FULL FIELD

5. GANGBUSTER has been super in both runs this preparation without winning. He lacked that bit of fitness first up and last start was game when trying to chase down Precious Memories and Veuve De Vega. Out to 1600m should suit the son of Blackfriars.

3. RAGAZZO D'ORO lacked fitness last week when box seating in the Listed Challenge Stakes behind Precious Memories, Veuve De Vega and Gangbuster. Should get every possible chance in the run again from barrier two. A great each-way play.

6. FINAL SALUTE comes into the race second up after a luckless first up effort when Randy Tan was aboard. Chris Parnham goes on here and the son of Not A Single Doubt should get every possible chance to run on.

8. WESTERN TEMPLE was ridden upside down last start when taken to the lead by William Pike against the older horses. He didn’t go down by much on that occasion but he should get a much softer run in transit from barrier one and be able to finish off strongly, along the inside, and under Shaun McGruddy.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 5-3-6-8

SUGGESTED BET: 3. Ragazzo D’oro – EACH WAY

Race 6 - 3:40PM PERAK TURF CLUB TROPHY (1200 METRES) – FULL FIELD

10. STORM DANCER is the forgotten three-year-old in the race. He comes into this off a month freshen up after running an unlucky fourth behind Dainty Tess. He was shunted wide on the turn by Miss Lawrance and they ended up having a bumping duel all the way up the straight on that occasion. With clearer running, he should have finished closer. From barrier three in this race, he should lob just behind the speed and finish off well.

3. NEXT GENERATION ran on well last start in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy. Second up here will suit the son of Magnus and the progeny of the Victorian sire are going very well at the moment after his other sons Great Shot and Magniflying both won last week.

5. PARADING comes out of the same form race as Next Generation. He snuck into third and was only beaten three lengths. The wide barrier is a concern but he is a great each-way play.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 10-3-5

SUGGESTED BET: 10. Storm Dancer – EACH WAY

Race 7 - 4:20PM DETONATOR STAKES (1800 METRES) – FULL FIELD

9. FALCON CREST looks primed for this third up assignment. The two efforts this preparation so far were both very good, especially last start when on the wrong part of the track at Pinjarra. The son of Musket should work into the race nicely and be close in the finish.

7. POUNAMU did win last start and meets a few of his rivals better at the weights but he is still untested at this class. If he brings his best, he will be hard to beat and he looks to have furnished into to a lovely and consistent galloper.

8. OUTLAW PETE’s record is fantastic over 1800m and he should be fit after two very good recent runs over staying trips. He should be doing his best work late from back in the field.

2. TONTO ran well last start when first up off a freshen up. That run was of course behind Pounamu and he should have come on from that run. Tonto's last win was at Listed level over 1800m and this is a much easier assignment than that race back in November 2016.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 9-7-8-2

SUGGESTED BET: 9. Falcon Crest – WIN & 7. Pounamu - WIN

Race 8 - 5:00PM GET THE TABTOUCH HANDICAP (1100 METRES) – FULL FIELD

8. RED PADDY is racing in outstanding form at the moment. Nobody missed his brilliant fifth at Pinjarra last start. The runs before that, in this preparation, have all been fantastic as well. Looks very hard to beat.

11. CUANZO is a get back and run on galloper which will be aided by the speed in the race from the likes of Agachar Cruz, Flying Roar and It's It. Don’t forget that this gelding beat Three Votes four starts ago and you have to respect the Lou Luciani team which is going great guns at the moment.

13. SHADY GRAY has plenty of ability but can't seem to draw a gate. From barrier 10 and with the blinkers on, don’t be surprised to see him ridden in a more positive manner.

4. IT'S IT is on the quick one-week backup after contesting the Listed Cyril Flower Stakes. Back to this grade suits the son of Knowledge and he is good enough to win this.

SUGGESTED SELECTIONS: 8-11-13-4

SUGGESTED BET: 11. Cuanzo – EACH WAY
