A five-year-old mare by Econsul, Just Jude comes from a strong maiden at Bunbury that was won by Regal Moon.
Just Jude was beaten three lengths by Regal Moon and was doing her best work late.
Regal Moon lines up in the Listed Challenge Stakes (1500m), later on in the day, as the second favourite and William Pike’s elect of the three Bob Peters-owned runners.
Three lengths off that filly is good enough form to win this maiden.

Race 3 - 2:09PM MUMM CHAMPAGNE HANDICAP (1200 METRES) – FULL FIELD
1. KEY TO FAME
TABtouch opening price: $8
A front-running son of Al Maher, Key To Fame has been threatening to win a race of this nature for some time now.
The four-year-old gelding won impressively first up, this preparation, in a moderate class three before placing three times in Saturday graduation class.
He did not have much luck two starts ago when trapped wide from barrier 11 and finished seven lengths from Majinika.
And last start he found cover, just off the speed, and finished off strongly which showed that he can take a sit and run on as well as lead.
The Simon Miller-trained runner has to hold out the heavily fancied favourite Galaxy Star, but if the track favours those towards top of the speed, like it usually does in the first few races at Ascot, Key To Fame will be the one to catch.

Race 8 - 5:14PM STONE MOTHERLESS AFTER THE LAST HANDICAP (1400 METRES) – FULL FIELD
5. CANDLELIGHT STAR
TABtouch opening price: $9
You may have to wait until the end of the day but the Albany-based galloper has opened up at a healthy each-way quote.
Barrier nine is ideal for the headstrong and free-wheeling galloper.
Jerry Noske can sit three-wide with cover and let the Roy Rogers-trained gelding loose at the turn.
He is yet to run a bad race this preparation and is the value of the race.
